Vena Nexus & Vena Group

Simone Grasso is a Partner at Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), now part of BlackRock, where he also serves as Chief Investment Officer of Vena Group and Global Head of Vena Nexus. In these roles, he spearheads the company's investment strategy and drives the development of AI-ready data centre infrastructure.

Prior to Vena Group, Simone was a Principal in GIP's energy team, where he played a pivotal role in several landmark transactions: the acquisition of GIP's European renewable platform in Spain, GIP's first investment in offshore wind in the German North Sea, and the establishment of Vena Energy.

Earlier in his career, Simone was part of the renewable energy team in Credit Suisse's investment banking division in London, covering the sector across the UK, Germany, Spain, France, and Italy—including the listing of Enel Green Power, the world's largest renewable IPO at the time.

Simone's strategic vision and commitment to sustainable energy have earned him industry recognition. In 2024, he was named Renewable Energy Leader of the Year at the 3rd Solar Energy Storage Future Malaysia, organized by Energy Box—an honor that reflects his ongoing contribution to advancing sustainable energy solutions across the Asia-Pacific region.

Simone holds an honours degree in Bioengineering from the Biomedical University of Rome, a Master's in Management from the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris, and a Master's in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Turin.
