Dr. Yukihiro Maru is the Founder and Group CEO of Leave a Nest, Co-founder and Managing Director of UntroD / UntroD Capital Asia, and Chief R&D Advisor at Euglena Co., Ltd.
A pioneer in deep-tech ecosystem building, he founded Leave a Nest in 2002 and has since developed it into a leading innovation platform connecting academia, startups, and industry across Asia.
In 2015, Dr. Maru co-founded Real Tech Fund, which later evolved into UntroD, to channel capital into “untrodden” areas of science and technology.
Today, UntroD manages close to USD 300 million in AUM across Japan and Southeast Asia, investing in high-impact deep-tech ventures tackling critical societal and environmental challenges.
He also played a pivotal role in supporting Euglena from foundation to IPO, contributing to its R&D and global development strategy.
Dr. Maru holds a Ph.D. in Agriculture from the University of Tokyo and continues to champion science-based entrepreneurship and deep-tech investment for sustainable growth across Asia.
