What is Energy Tech Summit Asia?
APAC’s premier event for climate tech innovation and investment, bringing together founders, investors, corporates, and policymakers shaping the future of energy. This is the first Asian edition, built on seven years of success in Europe.
When and where is it?
29–30 September 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Who attends?
More than 1,000 attendees, including VCs and CVCs, startups, and corporates and utilities, alongside policymakers. Organisations joining in 2026 include Oracle, MUFG, JPMorgan, Shell, Temasek, and Aramco Ventures.
What happens at the summit?
Two days of startup pitches, keynotes, panels, an exhibition floor, and curated 1:1 meetings that match you with the right investors, startups, and partners. The agenda spans eight themes, from green energy infrastructure and AI x Energy to climate financing and energy security.
How do I register, and what passes are available?
Register through the button at the top of the page. General Admission covers both days of sessions, the exhibition, and networking, with a dedicated startup pass for early- and growth-stage teams. Pass options and pricing are listed on the registration page.
Is there a startup pitch competition?
Yes. The Energy Tech Challengers competition puts startups in front of the region’s most active VCs, CVCs, and corporate partners. Apply through the Startup Call or the ABB Call on the Apply to Pitch page.
Can my company sponsor, exhibit, or host a side event?
Yes – all three are available and can be tailored to your goals, from expo presence to a private roundtable. Reach out to the partnerships team to find the right format.

What do I need to know before travelling to Malaysia?
For most Energy Tech Summit Asia attendees, no visa is required for short stays. Malaysia offers visa-free entry to citizens of around 160 countries, with stay limits depending on your passport.
Check your passport:
- 90 days visa-free: US, Canada, UK, EU & EFTA, Australia, Japan, South Korea, GCC nations
- 30 days visa-free: Most ASEAN countries, Latin American countries, China and India under current exemption arrangements
- 14 days visa-free: Select countries, including Iran and Myanmar
- Visa required: Includes Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nigeria
Before you fly
Even if you’re travelling visa-free, you’ll need to have:
- Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) – free online form, completed within 3 days before arrival → Complete your MDAC
- Passport valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date
- Return or onward ticket – confirmed by air, sea or bus
- Accommodation booking and proof of funds – these may be requested at the border
- Fingerprints – biometric clearance is completed at the checkpoint on arrival
